clutch cable.

Post by Cynical » Mon Nov 03, 2008 8:48 am

Anyone in Vic got a spare MY clutch cable?
apparently for early models 80-83 the cable is different from later ones.
has to have cable number on it of 26020 or 26021.
If it has 26022 it apparently will not fit my 82.

Check Pick a Part in Campbellfield - I *think* there is an MY (early 80s before 85) being wrecked there but I cannot be 100% sure as I dont pay attention to older Subarus but it has caught my eye...

All good one of the QLD boys has got one.
I'm just going to have to do a bit of a bush mechanic to get it going enough to get it home.

hehe... dont need a clutch

just a good battery and starter motor

start the car in gear and match the revs to the drivetrain and they'll just slip right in

tho it does make reverse parking intersting :P

If it was around the corner i would give it a crack.
i got a mate to push me backwards while i slipped it into reverse.
got me off the road. but i wouldnt like to drive it 50k's without a clutch.
I think it just snapped right at the pedal end. i've got a bolt with a hole drilled in it, and a nut.(just slip the cable in and tighten the nut) and some cable ties just incase. we'll see what happens.

I did that once from Benidgo to Geelong without clutch cable - have to change the gears to match the revs but the worst part was up hill as i had to creep up slowly till the light changes (from memory of the intersection of calder fwy keilor park drive - that was the worst part.
