Andy's Wreckers 21/9 (near Campbellfield PAP):

1 MY coupe - white, GLF-5. Appears complete except for wheels & centre console. Blue interior, digi-dash. Pass-side door is not much, drivers side ok. Rust at bottom of rear window (both sides).

1 Gen-1 Liberty - white, 1990 model, 226k on the clock, appears complete except for drivers side front strut is gone and damaged left side (front quarter/door - not too bad).

I haven't been to Andy's for awhile, last time they had no Subaru's at all. Plenty of Falcodore's, but a few unusual vehicles (even a burnt-out Rolls-Royce).

Dean,
How do you feel about Andy's wreckers? They dont really seem to care about Subarus, only cares about Falcodores etc but I like to check out the showroom in the shed... I dont really feel comfortable at that wreckers and prices isnt what I'm expecting. Another thing I don't like wreckers asking "what you look'n for" etc

AP,

They remind me of how wreckers used to be 20 years ago - prices can be higher or lower than PAP. It is certainly the most disorganised layout I have seen - the MY coupe was on the left side of the yard (near the Datsun's) and the Liberty was on the right (near the Commodore's). The showroom - I reckon they might sell a few more if they took the layers of dust and dirt off everything. They have a lot of junk that would get tossed out anywhere else, though - I think the old guy who owns/runs it is a bit of a hoarder.

MY Touring Wagon

Post by Hamish71 » Mon Sep 22, 2008 2:44 pm

Hey, Inspired by El Freddo's dash conversion in his (sort of) Brumby. Im looking for an MY Touring Wagon with the sports dash, centre console, centre floor console, and aircon. Dont care what colour the interior trim is.

If you see one, let me know here, or mwood@aanet.com.au

27/9: Jolly's

No MY's.
2 L wagons - one sports, one standard. Both white, blue interior, carb. #205 looked complete, #767 had a broken windscreen, damaged hood, but did have factory wagon wheels - 1 cap only but all appeared to have the plastic clip ring.

4 Impreza's of around the mid-90s vintage.

Heaps of Liberty's, mostly early 90s.

1 Sherpa with almost nothing left on it.

ok so went around to a few wreckers here in ballarat, most were over the counter types not pick a part but i did have a browse through a few yard.

cant remeber the names of the wreckers but ill try an remeber what ive seen.

seen quite a number of L-series but most were pretty wrecked out. didnt see anything to special about them.

a leone that hadnt been touched, looks like it could be driven away. tacho dash, 5spd 2wd. 280ish k's(think i might grab the dash out of it)

an ea82 coupe (is that a vortex?) had electric everything.

only a few libs. one had complete ej22 with only bout 150000...

went round pricing ej22 + wiring loom + computer and the first guy wanted $1650 for it with bout 130000 on the clock!
the other guy selling the 150000k one wanted $850.

how much are other wreckers wantin for ej22 an associated parts? ive been hearing we can get them much cheaper than that but where?

cheers

matt

Check the Vortex if it's 4wd or 2wd, if it's 4wd the rear discs would be worth picking up.

Should be able to p.u a complete Ej22 from a PA for around $600 I'd guesstimate. Otherwise buy a early Liberty off eBay for around the same price and wreck it out...

Why not you go to Jolly's at Dandenong, they're pick-a-part type and you can pick from what car you gonna get... The prices is 1/3 -1/4 from the costs in Ballarat. Engine alone is below $200 but you'll need extra for other stuff.

Anyone got some updates of the different joints?

If someone is headed out on the "circuit" could you please price (if possible):

- 4wd gearbox (subaru)
- Backing plates for disc setup
- Radius rod mount plates

Cheers

Fair enough...
there is 2 L series at Campbellfield PAP (white wagon is fresh) but didnt see if it was D/R or auto & ratio etc...

For sure there is AWD D/R box at Jollys, its about $134 for the box (same price between AWD & L Series boxes.
