Wrecker update

Post by dfoyl » Sat May 24, 2008 4:45 pm

Checked out Jolly's this AM, plenty of early Libertys and 2 late-model Lib's, 2 Impreza's, but in the EA's :

2 red MY wagon's, #268 & #300 - both complete but ratty. Nothing special to either of them, standard mid/late run MY wagons with tan interiors.

L sedan - white - #426 - bonnet was bent/jammed down so I couldn't see the engine type but pretty sure it was carb. Common sedan wheels.

L wagons - #9 & 647 - both white, base models. #256 - light green, tourer with power windows, etc. No aftermarket accessories of note.

Nearly all the L wagons and the MY wagons had wagon wheels, with the standard centre caps that are often missing.

I also dropped in to Centre Road, no change from previous post but I did see a Pug 505 (STI I think) with a complete set of 14" steel rims on it (no centre caps). The old Pug 505 with the 390mm alloy rims is gone...

Hey guys can someone let me know if they spot any MPFI L's out there in your travels as I would really love to get my hands on one as I need a fair few bits and pieces.

Thanks

Cambellfield PAP - 1 Leone sedan, light bronze metallic color, brown interior, no engine, auto box. And that was all!

(Actually, they have a Liberty sedan for sale out the front as a complete car as well).

Centre Road (Imlach's):

MY sedan - white - 1982 - tan interior, tacho-equipped dash, slanted console.
MY wagon - white - 1982 - base model - unchanged since last time
MY Brumby - white - missing all the good bits, unchanged since last time

L sedan - white - blue interior, carb, stock
L wagon - white - same as above
L wagon - white - didn't check interior, parked over near the Holden section

Also 3 Gen 1 Liberty's, 1 sedan and 2 wagons. Didn't really look at them.

And 2wd turbo Vortex is still there...

Dfoyl,

Was the tacho MY dash the "long" sports dash?

I'm after one of these, if anyone knows the price of a dash at centre rd could you please let me know... will have to save up for this one - its almost the last piece of the puzzle for Sunnie - I just stripped out an MY touring wagon that had a digi dash, we don't want this dash...

Cheers

Price of an instrument cluster from the centre rd wrecker place?

If we can afford it we'll probabily be stopping in on the "way" home from the cruise.

Yes, it was the long sports dash...no idea on the price, though.

Update 21/6: Kilsyth PAP.
Red MY coupe with rusty pass-side door and bottom corner of drivers-side door bent in. Unchanged from last time. Tan interior, slanted console sitting in back seat.
White MY sedan. Grey interior. Sports dash, has a hairline crack directly below the image of the car on the LH of the gauge section. Good dashpad, no cracks at all. Vents are pretty much all horrible though. No price on boards for complete dash, I asked and was told about $80-100 depending on if you got "just" the dash and gauges, or if it included the centre console (pointless as it is common to the Brumby, and in any case sedan had the common console, not slanted), etc.
Light green metallic L sedan, 4wd, nothing of note.
Light green metallic L Touring wagon, dark red L wagon, and right at the bottom a light blue L wagon. Nothing of note on these either.
One (grey/blue?) gen 1 Liberty sedan.

Is Jolly Rojers their actual name? Are they a pick a part style wrecker or counter sales type? I don't think I've heard of them before.
What are their prices like?
Cheers Gee.

Jolly Rogers, is a pick a part style wreckers, very tidy (well most of the time they are) better than PaP - prices... hmm reasonable sometimes you need to argue but you'll loose.. I would buy from them because they have near late cars ie. 1995 Liberty

I have a 87 rx turbo that I am selling. It is is in good condition and has the white sunrasia wheels on it. I have had it in the paper but no one was really serious about it so I took it out. Has all the original bits on it but has overheating problem in the motor. If anyone is interested, Contact me through the forum and I will email you my details.

Okay, latest update as of yesterday:

Campbellfield Pick a Part:

88 red L touring wagon 3.9 ratio auto 4wd - possibly missing the gearbox, rear end and the grey door trims due to GTlegs getting there ;)

85 L wagon 3.9 DR 4wd 5 speed - If i had the money it wouldn't have the gearbox or rear diff...

92 Liberty Auto Sedan

L sports wagon 3.7 DR 4wd - same as last time I was there...

Centre Rd -> a very good selection at the moment:

91 white Lib wagon Auto 4wd

94 silver lib wagon Rolled *same as last time I was there (would like the EJ from this if oil looks good)* 2wd manual

82 MY wagon 4wd

86 Vortex 2wd turbo - missing turbo, heads, extractors, up and down pipes

91 bronze lib sedan GX - front end damage - very nice looking car otherwise

83 MY wagon 4wd - Hawaii T-shirt style seat covers 8)

MY 84 coupe with digi dash - missing left door

90 lib sedan 2wd auto

90 L wagon 4wd manual - rear righthand damage, good roof racks (bolts onto rail thats screwed to roof, very neat looking)

85 L sedan Manual 2wd

84 MY touring wagon - missing wheels, has digi dash - looks like it shouldn't be in a yard as its in really good nick, gold in colour

85 sherpa 4spd - missing seats, white in colour

I unfortunaltely didn't get to kilsyth on saturday - ran outta time as I had to be other places, but I got there today after deciding to make the short drive from the north eastern 'burbs. Glad I did - now have the sports dash and wiring I was after for the brumby, so will get onto that tomorrow. Here's what I can remember was there:

- '90 Flori
-85 L Leone with factory sunroof - first I've seen of this in an L, no rust around sunroof.
-85 L sedan 4wd
-90 touring wagon 3.7
-85 touring wagon 3.9 DR 5spd
-84 leone now missing dash - had a great dash surround in grey trim, no cracks, no engine or gearbox
-83/84 coupe - missing dash and all wiring under the bonnet
-several libs, didn't look much into this as I had limited time before they closed.

So, overall had a good time checkin out what was around (thanks to dad being out of town - got to drive his car, I love the price of gas $30 for the day's trip :D), and still got a smile on my dial with the sports dash

Cheers
