I figured this section of the forum needed a new post :)

I decided that it was well past time to do some real off roading in the Outback, so we met up with a friend heading down to Flea Creek in his Jeep.

We went in via Brindabella Road, that was the easy part, even Google street view has been down there. The fun bit is a track called Gentle Annie, it drops 500m in 4km of track, so it is quite steep in places. Only a few photos unfortunately.

The Outback handled the track really well, we were all impressed, not once did it bottom out. The track was good, but very dusty in places, just a bit more right foot required :)

I reckon I have been up and down that track about 20 times to kayak the section of river just above flea creek. The track condition varies a lot depending on recent rainfall but parks (or whoever fix it up) seem to fix it up pretty quickly after damage. We did manage to get a little bit stuck down there once in a AT Forester but that was due to lack of go to get up the hill rather than clearance or traction issues.

In my opinion the Goodradigbee is one of the best grade IV sections of whitewater in the country. Here is a shot of me on one of the drops just above flea creek.

Nice video, I think I need to get a GoPro. The drive back up was really good, only a bit of wheel spin, it was very dry and dusty. I had a dust white out at one point when I was too close to the Jeep in front.

Cool pictures, I need to spend some more time down there and check out the river !

Yeah, I have been told that Webb's Ridge Track has become a lot worse over the last couple of months.
