13, 14, 15th of January. (fri-sun) Subaru 4wd club trip.

If you are coming you need to book. You can call the Ranger station at Mon-repos and book for Saturday night. You will need to have access to a credit card for payment.

The campgrounds we are staying at is Bargara beach caravan park. Also ring ring them and book for Friday and Saturday nights. Payment when you get there.

I will post up fone numbers when I find them.

There will be some 4wding on the Saturday as far as I know.

$5 temp member fee for non-members.

Turtles - 41538888
Campground - 41592228

When you ring the campground, mention you are with the Subaru 4wd club so they know to put you in the same area as us. That is of course if you want to be that close.

I would like to make that trip but cant get away till very late Friday 13th. arrive late friday nite say 9pm.

I went last year and did not see one turtle, tides and moon were wrong for the turtles. We stayed to midnight and called it quits.

We can have a couple of goes though Friday and Saturday this time.

Any problems with an ex member and prospective new member coming??

Just thought I should ask - This is an official Subaru club trip, right?
Who is the trip leader and what is there contact number?. Just want to make sure my name is on the trip sheet.

I don't know if it is an official Subaclub trip or not. Either way there is no problems with any one coming. Past or present members, or non-members are all welcome.

When I was social director I had no idea who was going to lead the trip. I am of the belief that it is Grant and Kim now but I am not sure. I suggest emailing them at [email protected] or contact David Martin (current Social director) at [email protected]

The dates that have been chosen are based on the best tides and moon phase from past Turtle facts. According to the NPWS that is.

Heard a whisper that Grant "may" not be going. Not 100% sure on that one though.

By the looks of things I have to work on Friday morning and won't be able to head off until mid day. If I manage to swing the day off we will most likely leave at about 7.00-7.30 am.

With my back to work being delayed 'til Wednesday I would say it will be around lunch time before I can get away. If any one wants to travel there with us just drop me a note and we will arrange a place.

If any one is travelling there alone and wants some directions, then here you go. If you are coming in to Bundaberg from the west (main highway) then simply drive straight through it. DO NOT cross the river to the north. Follow the signs to the Rum distillery if you don't notice the signs to Baragara. You will come to a round-about once you sort of get out of town a bit. Make sure you pay attention to the signs. Bargara is straight through I seem to recall.

The road you are looking for is Bundaberg-Bargara road (strange that) and you can follow it right to the beach front at Baragara. Once you get to the beach front turn left and follow that road right to the end. The caravan park is directly behind the surf club. You can't miss it.

If you are coming in from the south to Bundaberg there is actually signs to Baragara before you get to the city centre. You turn right at the main round-about where the sign tells you to and follow that road along to the next main round-about. Make sure you pay attention here or you will end up at the mouth of the Burnett river. Watch the signs to Bargara. You will be turning right at that second round-about.
