Subaru Extreme 8 Deserts Challenge ...

Post by Bantum » Sat Feb 20, 2016 4:12 am

For those not following on FB, there are a group of misfits organising a trip later this year to travel the desert country of central Oz.
Driving 10500kms through some of the harshest roughest tracks in Australia. Including the Canning Stock Route, Strezleki Tr, Oodnadatta Tr, Birdsville Tr, Simpson Desert, Tanami Desert, Sturts Stony Desert, and many more. This challenge has never been done before in one continuous trip, especially not all with one make of vehicle.

Yeah Nachaluva posted a thread about this a couple of months ago. I'm trying to forget it as I so desperately want to be a part of this trip in Ruby Scoo!

Three things holding me back: funds, work and family - pretty much in that order!

It'll be an epic epic trip that's for sure and one of the best ways to see central Australia in a very unique way!

Cheers and all the best to those going - commiserations to those that are not but want to be :(

Any updates on this Bantum?

I'm sure it's all done and dusted by now - I haven't heard anything at all :(

I've been meaning to text Nachaluva to see how he's going and how the crew are going but never got around to it

Yep - They just got back last week, sorry I haven't got round to posting up any photos of their journey yet ( see FB for more ) + I'm waiting for the man 'Tiny' to do a trip report some time later this week ... :)

It'll be interesting to see what stories come out of the trip, as it was pretty eventful as far as I know - More to come for sure ... ;)
