I got a call from the cops the other day........Excuse me sir but your gun license, ran out 3yrs ago, you're not in trouble but what would you like to do?

Turns out I'd have to go through all the pissing around to get my license fresh and as I haven't put a bullet through it since 1981 and it was also in a mates name so he could keep it in his gun case I just handed it over to him.

Would a .22 Winchester, barrel load, bolt action rifle be worth much?? it's in ok condition and has a vinyl carry case, I bought it new in 1977, I haven't seen it for over 10 yrs lol.

Depends on model and year of mfg. Probably not much more than 250/300 bucks.

Hey, I bought it new in 77 I think, and it's had 4 yrs of mild use though I was never what you'd call careful with it so it's got some marks, it holds 12 down a shaft under the barrel and one in the chamber from memory, you really think it could be worth that much??? the guy I handed it over to thought only about $50 lol, he doesn't want it either.

The cop who eventually found me through my elderly mother was great about it.

Don`t know what the laws are like over there, but ,either advertise it at one of the gun shops or see if they will buy it, or take it to rifle range and advertise it there or try some of the shooting magazines like s.s.a.a. They are all worth something to someone but it`s finding the someone.

Thanks, I might ring around a couple of gun shops though my daughter's boyfriend has a license so maybe she'll want to use it and keep it in the family?????

It's not a lever mate, bolt action and one thing nobody was ever able to work out was how to dis-arm it for transport, no matter what we tried we could never get the bolt out.

Can`t shoot the brumby. Need it to get the meat home. Beats the crap grain fed stuff you get at the monopolizing supermarkets.

Mine had a bullet hole in the bottom of the tray before I filled it with steel-putty.

Horses make great dog food though. ;)
