General warning to the WA public - IT LIVES AGAIN! (nearly)!

Post by tim_81coupe » Tue Jan 03, 2006 8:41 pm

Just solved the problem I had with re-assembling my coupe. Anyone who lives within a 20km radius of my house should have just heard the sound of an angry boxer turbo with no exhaust.
I won't go into too many details but it seems I had crossed eyes when I re-wired the ignition coils. Yup, had two around the wrong way!
I still need to refit the radiator and the exhaust, plus do a little bit of a tidy-up in the cabin but it looks ready to rumble. Literally.

If Subaru's are a drug then I'm high right now. :D :D

I'm thinking of shooting a vid with no exhaust for my own benefit, may as well post it too. Need to find decent video hosting first though.

Great news Tim. I fear for your ball joints though. I would be checking them things weekly.

Tim, on a serious note, if you're planning on shooting a vid with no exhaust - make sure you edit your number plate out otherwise if some prick sees that vid you may get one of those stupid EPA notices :?

You know, like that WRX that was drifting through Sydney or wherever? Pretty sad that you have to think about these kind of things hey!

Meanwhile, bring on the vid!

Well after two neighbours came over in person to complain this week, I am not going to make a home video. Stupid me showed two mates on two seperate occasions without filming either.

Its back together mostly, just took it for a drive then. Sounded beautiful in my driveway, but as soon as I started to drive it was apparent that my efforts have gone to waste. The car still stutters and farts about whenever there is any load on it. I am just about ready to set it on fire. :x :x

I'm going to re-do the fuel system entirely next, gotta get a decent surge tank, upgrade the fuel pump to an 044, actually get around to fitting the new injectors and get a new pressure regulator. If its still doing it then I will burn it.

Come on Tim you will not get it trouble for cranking it up just 1 more time.
Oh and if you burn it then you HAVE to film that (althoug i would think twice about posting it on here)
