Hey guys,
Is someone able to point me in the direction of a workshop manual for a 89 L series with EFI in Aus. I know of the ones that are on the net but they are for American vehicles and there is only part of the manual there. I need a lot more than that eg the gearbox/transmission section, the body section and lots more. I am willing to pay if someone has it on CD. The Gregory's ones do not cover EFI and the Haynes manuals are usually pretty useless.
Cheers

there is a factory service manual in the form of 2 pdfs that I have for 1989 models, covers turbo & efi. I think I got it off this forum somewhere. Try the tech manual section

That thing is a hill holder I think. you can connect it/disconnect it, whichever you wish. Just block the vacuume line off - EDIT* I have been corrected, disregard.

Sorry mate I thought your photo was referring to what I've marked "A". That is the vac tank as I said it looks fine one hose should goes to a vacume source (intake manifold or something) and the other into the cabin. The thing i've marked "B" I have no idea! never seen it on any of my L series. someone else might know hopefully

Got both Gregory's and Haynes here.. Haynes is a right old pain in the arse to figure out anything in. Gregories is much better but less info.

I assume you are talking about the little solenoid. In the carby cars, it supplies vaccum to an articulator to raise idle speed when you turn on the Air-Con, God knows why they put them on the MPFI cars as they were never connected. MPFI engines have a solenoid on the throttle body to that raised idle when the AC is on
