Good Story-Karma

Post by subybrumby » Sat Jan 19, 2008 4:12 pm

I'm in the middle of doing the L series lower control arm conversion on a brumby and went into our local city this morning to get some CV work done.

I found the Cv place wide open, workshop empty and roller door up, lights on and no one there. I had a stroll thru thinking he was on the dunny or something and finally rang the number on the front of the business. The bloke was at home and had forgotten to lock up yesterday. Place had been open all night. He flew down and thanked me (Cos I waited and played security guy) anyhow...I was his new best mate and he did my work for me for nix (plus parts) to return the favour

Moral to the story....I will be getting all my CV work done there, we had a yarn and got on real good...All because I took the time to ring to see what had happened to him..and why his workshop was empty..

A shop near me used to just shut the door at night no locks no nothing anyone could walk in any time. Crazy. must have got stuff pinched.

He said he has been broken into a few times and they go straight for the office and look for money...While I was standing there, I could see hundreds of CV parts, boots, tools the whole kaboodle. I would say he was very lucky considering how close he is to the main street and how many cool dudes would have been walking around full of syrup and mischief last night.

I used to dream I had come into work the next morning to find I'd not locked up the night before. The stupid thing about the weird dream was that if I closed up I was never the one to open up the following morning
