Did you miss me , not that I have to much to say on here.
Had a great week down at Cheyne beach just relaxing , no moblie phone reception :), only downer was that the Liberty has begun running on 3 pots , made it real hard towing the camper back from Albany

The engine has no spark on #4 coil , it has power to it and have tested the lead and the coil and both work fine when hooked up to the front cyl wiring , so what the pluck is going on I don't know .

I guess that this section would have been better off on the trouble shooting forum, oh well **** happens

Hm have you pulled the spark plug to have a look?
If it still doesn't work after putting a new spark plug in then maybe theres something worse happening (or not happening). I would check compression on that cylinder next...

Are you saying that the coil pack is fine? That if you put it some where else it produces spark?

Have you had the coil out or did you just swap the wiring with number 2 and see what happens?

It may be a spark plug has died.
Could be an injector has fouled.
At worst a valve is leaking/riding for some reason. Or a cracked piston.

You can pretty much rule out computer issues. It will be a hardware issue not a software one.

I would:
  1. Take the coil out
  2. Take the spark plug out.
  3. Compression test it and write it down.
  4. Plug the coil back in and then put in the plug and look for spark.
  5. If you have spark that way look at injector or valves (compression)
  6. No spark, try the coil pack you have been offered.
  7. No spark, try a new plug - any plug
A mate tried chasing a miss on number 3 for weeks. He changed every thing and was about to try a new computer. I made him take the rocker cover off and check the valves. Problem fixed with a screw driver and a tap with a hammer. The rocker was riding on the valve.

Very slight chance you have done the same. Pretty good chance it is a spark plug playing up.

Thanks for all your imput , Brett ,Paul , Andrew etc, Got in contact with a chap from the RS liberty board that live a short distance away and he gave me an igniter to try , went home , removed the old one put in the new one and bobs your uncle , all running sweet again , so long as it stays that way I will remain a happy chappy.
