Pfft!

Wouldnt bother on an EFI car, maybe a carby one but the gains would only be minimal.

Minimal as in you'd be hard pressed to see a difference.

they work ok in a carby. I had one with my old motor. you can tell the difference in power. But not really worth the $160. Get one and use the trial period, if you dont like it, then give it back to them!

With back to back dyno testing we did a few years back, it showed a repeatable 5hp loss at the wheels on a standard VS V6 commodore fitted with two hiclones. Had complete intake pipe swap as they are a ***** to remove once jammed in the pipe, also meant less than 5mins between runs and always had 5hp less even after repeated swaps back and forth. Cant comment on the fuel economy claims as didnt bother testing it any further :) Dont bother if EFI...

Wouldn't bother. Why would you want a flow restriction inside the air intake pipe? The "super-awesome votex thingummybob" they might create wouldn't make it past an intake elbow, let alone a valve moving at such high velocities. Save your time and money, buy some decent oil, new plugs and get a tune-up. The results would be more impressive.

Dont forget that when cruising, the throttle plate is only partially open, which would remove any swirling effect created by this supposedly magic device

If you could get one in just before each intake valve, at the end of the intake runner, to swirl the air/fuel just before combustion, then maybe 4 might make a difference.

But with the length of our intake runners, putting one before the throttle body is simply pissing in the wind.

To get the full experience of a Hiclone, you would probably be better off with using it in a bong, cos the guy who invented these probably got the idea this way to flog crapp.

Why don't car manufacturers incorporate them in their designs?
