sooooo
as far as i know when working an O2 sensor shuld be emitting a volts range of like 0.1 to 0.9 kinda thing to tell the ECU how the engine is running.
mine puts out an almost to consistent 4.7 to 4.8 volts at all times.
does that mean i need a new one? or is there something else amiss here.
cheers

4.7volts, YIKES!!!
Are you sure its a narrowband o2 sensor? How many wires does it have?

its on my EJ22 motor and has 3 wires on it
ofcourse im testing across the white wire as red is the ignition feed and black is earth

The EJ series engines had a 0-5V sensing range so at 4.8V it is telling the ECU that the engine is running rich

So EJ engines had a special type of o2 sensor?
All narrow band o2 sensors work on 0-1v that i know of

yer exactly wt i thought Suparoo.
but i guess EJ's like to be different lol.
my new A/F guage is mostly sitting on the Max setting ie..very rich.
but sometimes when cruising it comes down to between Stoich/Rich line. but thats rarely.
need to find out why its runnin rich now.

I bought a universal no-name o2 sensor off ebay for my EJ and it seems to run fine.

to follow on from this...
everything ive found has said that the EJS only use a 0-1V scale.
Rich Mixture: 0.7 (AT) and 1.0 (MT)
Lean Mixture: 0.0 (AT) and 0.2 (MT)
(courtesy of Phizanza's forums)
mine doesnt respond to well coz of my TPS it seems.
when i D/C the TPS it was responding a lot better than with the TPS connected.
ive now got a different TPS on there to try out. but need to get my feelers to set it right before i know if its done nething
