I've got a Marks Adapters one fitted to a (cough) Landcruiser. Works perfectly. They also do mechanical ones but I never got around to trying them.

Yeah I have it here, yeah it is, just wanna talk about it here, havent had the chance to solder it all in, might do that in this afternoon...

I have located the wires on Subaru Electrical Diagram for 96 Legacy, its showing black and white wires, I am assuming to use white wire as its positive feed? I am not very sure which to cut.

here is the diagram - I suspect its white and black wire there (its twisted wire), Its same colour on the wires from the gearbox in engine bay that I checked out...

Which wire should I cut - white or black?

at a guess.. the white wire

the speedo pickup will be switching the signal wire (white) to ground (black) each time the speedo gear moves past the sensor.

from what i have seen of subaru looms, i would be very surprised if the white is the earth, and the black the signal

So if i get multimedia and check if there is an circuit with the body - there shouldn't yeah?

Once the speedo corrector is installed I will type an tech details to place in technical page on this forum.

if you can do that with multimedia i will be impressed ;)

unplug the speedo sensor from the box and measure the wires resistance to the chassis. black should be close to zero

Yep. Correct black was the signal wire, its now fitted in my Liberty - very happy with it and its spot-on with GPS and I went under speed check it was correct. Thankyou once again. I will write up an technical part of how to do it and place it in Wheel section or electrical section?
