I carried out a statistical study on my 89 L-Series wagon over around a consecutive 30,000km (220,000 to 250,000km) a few years ago.

It returned an average 12.35L/100km. Range depends on how empty you want your tank to get. If using 50 out of the 60L (gauge usually just below the E mark) I'd get a safe 405km at this average.

Best ever was 9.41L/100km worst was 15.44L/100km. This'd give you 531km and 323km respectively from 50L.

To a certain extent, consumption is a function of the state of tune, condition of the engine and how and where you drive it. Take from that what you may.

Average fuel price for this period was around 96cpl! :) Car ran slightly better on Premium unleaded (95RON) but I had advanced timing also.

Spreadsheet uploaded here FYI.

200km from half a tank, towing a trailer is good.

also try searching, there's been heaps of threads about this lately.
