Scored a set of old worn and torn Recaros a year or so ago...
Got around to recovering one so far..

I glued 4mm neoprene over it and built some sturdy mounts.
Golleee it is comfortable.

Mounted it yesterday and cured the low rider seating problem for good.

Germans make nice stuff.

Peace everyone.

And no, I don't run a passenger seat.

Heaps more roomy in there and Groover loves the single level.

Definitely the way to travel. I just did a trip from Sydney to Winton and back in the M5 (and 37 laps while I was there) - pee breaks only on the Hume and no sore bum. The wife's 535 has comfort seats rather than the sports seats - and they are even better.

No shot gun seat eh - The solitude of a motorbike in a Brumby - love it.

I once got a defect notice for not having a passenger seat!

Talk to me about this PeeJay, how could they justify that??
Sheesh, the Fun police will halt any jocularity wont they.

Considering that two people and a baby car seat will not fit, therefore ruling out Brumby family trips..
I was thinking when the little fella is not breastfeeding anymore I would bolt the baby capsule to the rear firewall so the boys could enjoy some motoring without the Missus.

We will be investigating further.

I'm not sure if it was even legal, but it was on a list with a few other things so I didn't worry about it too much. This was in NSW, hopefully down there in Tas they are a bit more understanding.

i think its more that the car is registered as a 2 seater, and technically it cant, so it dosent pass

i know a few people who have this trouble when removing the rear seat to bolt in harnesses for track days

you can walk into transport and re-register it as a 1 seater, but im pretty sure the cops out your way matt have far better things to be doing then pulling you over for not having a passenger seat

Register it as a one seater, put the seat in the middle (along with pedals, dash etc)... Sounded good while I was writing it but why would you bother eh haha.

Compliance plate says two seater, you can't change what the compliance plate says. The problem remains for those who have 'L' series too andremove the rear pew to fold the seats down, as the seat is gone it is no longer capable of holding 5 people as per the compliance plate and can be defected.

You'd probably be giving lip to a cop for them to ping you for it though...

You can "Mod plate" for reduced seating capacity, common for rally cars cause the cage interfers with the rear seat, but iv'e also seen a suzuki 800 hatch reg as a one seater, they used it for pamphlet deliveries.

I do want to keep it as a two seater (rego wise)..Groover's recent injury has proven how roomy it is with the 2nd seat out; at the moment there is SFA chance of Sascha and I riding together so...
I would like to just pop out the 4 bolts on occasion and revel in the expanse of extra cargo space.
I have no fear of Cops pinging me, they are fair and reasonable with regards to the WonderBrumby.
I keep it on the safe side, always.

Peace, especially at this time of year.

Matt, Sascha, Cooper and Groover.

You could go to the effort of making a "quick release" passenger seat and keep it in the back of the brumby to whip out and put in place if a cop gets picky...

Or just remove the seat belts so there's less chance of someone trying to use them without the seat (strange but true over here in a case with a mate that i've heard of...)

Cheers
