Hey folks. I'm pondering some things for a future project of mine, and I'm trying to find some details on the first gen (which is up to the 1994 model, I think) Liberty sedans...

Firstly: Does anyone know the coefficient of drag these things have? I'm assuming it'll be fairly high by modern standards, but knowing it will help me out.

Also: What is the diff ratio for the rear diff on that generation? (actually, I supose I could look that one up in the manuals section... heh.)

Hrm. That's all I can think of at the moment. I'm sure there'll be more as I get closer to buying the donor car, which I would prefer to be a 94 sedan - I've always liked those. But this is still all speculation and numbers-work at the moment - I need a house and a garage before I can start any projects!

3.9 manuals,4.1 autos,thats oz market non turbos

and 4.444 for the turbo auto's. Think the aust rs's had 3.9 diffs aswell.
Don't reckon the drag coefficient would be that bad. They don't have much of a frontal area and don't seem to have big angles or drop offs...

Yeah, I don't think the drag would be too bad, but a number would be nice. Unfortunately I can't find anything. I wonder what Subaru would say if I emailed them?

Subaru Aus would probably have no idea.

Found this on wikipedia " The vehicle had a drag coefficient of 6.81."

But i believe that number is Drag Coefficient x Area

RSLiberty had 3.545 diffs for manual.

Thats when it gets confusing
aus rs has 3.9 front and 3.54 rear,the g/box has a step down gear,why i don't know.
Jap manual 4.11,jap auto 4.44(turbos)

Yeah I saw that, but compared to other cars of similar size and such with CoDs of around 0.6 or so, I thought maybe that was a stuff up.

Yeah but if you do a decent lift that won't mean a thing.

According to the sales catalogue I have for the 1989 Liberty the Cd is 0.34, not really too bad by todays standards.

Ah that's a good number to start from. I got 0.337 for the '94 sedan based on the wikipedia article's width, height and "The vehicle had a drag coefficient of 6.81", so that could well be close to the mark. Something to work with, at least.

Then you'll have no worries with a stream lined car which wont move because it has no engine or drivetrain DA DA BOOM CHA!

Well another question concerning the early Libs,

I've come across a sunroof off a gen1 sedan which looks to be in excellent condition and apparently should fit my gen1 wagon as they are the same? but not sure.
I think a sunroof would be an awesome 'mod' (if you like) to do to my car to personalise it a bit haha.

But just curious how difficult is it to wham one of these into a car that has no history of a sunroof?

As I'm in Tas, anyone nearby that can install these things or know of any companies specialising in this sort of thing?
and how much does a second hand sunroof (everything included) usually go for?
