very very custom..there was quite a lot of suspension lift in this car... no bits hanging down
front controll arms looked very custom to me, could not work out what he did to gain the 6 stud....in fact it looked extremely bog standard. ie: very well done

whoa looks awesome!
Altho I suspect it isn't a 6" body lift....i bet the blocks aren't 6inch otherwise as Dave says, there would be heaps more hanging down....looks like alot of the height comes from the big wheel/tyre combo which is most likely just the hubs redrilled to 6 stud - u can see the original little ventilated front discs there I think. The rear looks to be even more jacked up prolly with the good old wound-up torsion bar and gas shockies combo.
**dont know if that made any sense, oh my god im so tired
edit - he still needs a bash plate!

EA81 !!!! I am a little disappointed, but impressed by the rest of the job.
However in reality it has no advantage off road due to being overgeared to buggery with the tyre size - street cruiser/offroad image ??. I know how much this happens when 27" tyres are fitted, cant imagine how that feels with those tyres and rims??
Would be interested if there is more to come in project wise, but most start with the engine approach (EJ conv), then build the car around it to suit.

I dropped my tyre size back 1" to 26" tyres before I sold it and was amazed by the slight difference of torque gained, made it more driveable in the boggy sand and let it get the revs up. My old MY had Weber and elec ignition etc and went very well, in my personal opinion 27" was getting a little too overgeared and the EA81 just didnt go as hard as the EJ engine it needed!

90 brumby - what size are those tyres (in metric)? they sure dont look like 30". 28's tops.
an EA81 would be a pig to drive with those big tyres, be honest. My EJ22 is overgeared with 27's and I have a ton more power than you
as you found subanator, 26's (dunlop adventurers for example) are a good max size for EA's in my opinion

I thought that sounded a bit odd so i got on the google machine.
Used these 2 independant web sites.

Sorry to say 225/70/15 = 27.4 inches
Did u compare them when the both tyres were off the cars and both with equal tread wear? Unlikely

i had bald and i mean BALD tyres on those rims and put them nedxt to matts 27"'s which where about halfway through their tread and mine where still minimum 2" bigger
