Fish oil in this spot

Well today I decided to dill to spot weld out of my spare wheel carrier and weld up the holes due to the EJ conversion. Well when I got the plate off there were 2 big rust holes. This car is pretty straight and only has a small amount of rust under the boot seal and a small dot near the rear door. Other than that the car is perfect for rust.

So a friendly suggestion for you all to go out and spay as much fish oil between the spare wheel holder and the fire wall where the tyre sits. Below is a picture. The rust was about where the file and file handle meet. It was about 2 inches round and identical on the other side about a quarter way down the file from the end.

Fish oil is great! It only smells for a short time.

I've heard about this fish oil application. Tell me more - what's the use of this?

Rust protection. Its not a rust killer but can stop rust once it has started.

I have also had Lanolin recommended as it tacks up the same and doesn't smell as much.

It means you havn't removed the spare wheel carrier. I thought mine was great until I drilled spot welds out nd removed it. I seen it an went holy crap i'm in for a day of welding and grinding.
