Project Cheap Grief has been inspected for rego and passed with a clean sheet - only minutes after a slide under to rag off the leak from the front rhs stub axle. It is up and running on the road. The auto is a bit sluggish until op temp, needs a back off to get a up shift when driving spiritedly sometimes - bit of a clunk in the transfer end on D or N to R.

Don't care as I have a manual kit to install real soon.

Stops good, good coz it is likely to donate rear discs to Brumby

handles like a 20 year old sube with just new sway bar bushes.Don't care...Brumby project should be in pipe line

Important thing is engine sounds healthy and can pull up the big hills nicely at low revs.

Good coz it should go sweet in Brumby

Tacho is weird arse as is the speedo. don't care , you know ...Brumby

That 2.5 inch exhaust - honestly don't care much for its rumble ALL the time, but it is sweet

It will be a shame to dismantle a nice looking car at the end.....

Pics ? I will charge me batteries and take some and maybe learn how to stick 'em up here when I have done me tax return. The last time I tried following someones instructions I got stuck, it did not work and that's that - to date. I will try Fatz's 'structions next....

why pits? I wanted to see if i liked the turbo characteristics before i go to the effort of the transplant, fiddle with intercooler install and increase boost etc - all on petrol - then convert it to LPG - then when happy 'drop' it in the Brumby (my daily driver) which is already on LPG.

Was not much trouble to get it registered just a tyre search, minor rust under screen and 18 bucks worth of sway bar bushes before inspection - all the other dramas have been engine related.

It may be my daily driver for a while as Brumby runs outta rego soon.

I am sorta amused by the way the auto features worked - new toy. If it was 5 speed auto and real healthy, maybe I'd keep it auto.

Turbo boost comes in nice and smooth, down low as intended by choosing the smaller hole engine pipe just under the turbine. I think i am happy with it as it is - engine wise. Runs at a less than 1/4 temp. Using my Roadangel EVO as a speedo. Cannot fit seat back far enough to be as comfortable as in Stratosed Brumby, and I am shorter than Tim81 !!
