Yep definitely standard it's listed in the user manual for my Gen1 Lib.
Although it does kindof look a little like a home mod - generic ****-Smith looking switch isnt it.

Its like a gear lock for automatic transmission, to reduce wheel spin.. Is it FWD (or FWD converted to AWD?)?

haha yea the button does look very out of place,
(which is weird considering it's meant to be AWD,
a mate told me Suby just changed the 4 to A in later years)
It may of been converted from FWD by a previous owner, how do i tell?

its a snow thing. makes taking off in the snow alot easier without wheelspin
stick in second > takes off in second and stays in second (until you hit high RPM)
stick in 3rd > takes off in second, shifts up to 3rd only (until you hit high RPM)
No effect in 1st or 4th
