Post by rtcb65 » Sat Aug 04, 2007 7:30 am

Hello to all from rtcb65. Sorry if this is not like normal. I am a forum virgin. I have been sitting back looking to try to get a feel of how this site works... I hope i can be of some help to people like i see happens here. That is one of the things that drew me to AUSUBARU.

Hope to get to know you all abit better over time and helping out when i can.

Hey mate welcome to the board :) Your signature reveals a bit of a beast - you don't live in Maroochydore do you? I am sure I have seen a car like yours getting around there.

Hey Matatak,

To answer your question about installing the electrics, Yes i did. The electric windows are there own harness . The central locking is the same so run it al together and alarm is all marked so ya know where to run the wires and the electric tail gate and spare swinger is activated via a button on the dash or from the keyless entry remote.

Sorry, i could go on and on about my wagon. luv it that much. Started from stock as a rock car and got to this point. .

Hello Cris,

I built a custom steal look alike rear bumper and used a boot solenoid from a vl, vn commodore . It fits nicely in the tail gate . There is even a bit on the latch to hook into . As long as you get a straight pull from the solenoid , it all works fine.

mine would open and relock due to the weight of the gate. used the same mech. was curious how you kept yours open.

Cris,

Sorry , I forgot to say that i open it with the alarm keyless entry button. so i am at the tail gate when i push the button to open it. I have a button on the dash to open the tail gate if someone else wonts to put anything in the back if i am in the car.
Sorry for not explaining myself better.

Hey Learner,

Thanks for the welcome.
The alarm i used ( as i am on a tight budget,) was a base line RINO with a couple of sensor add ons.
