From Liberty's view is the FWD struts are slightly shorter and weaker than AWD ones.
Sorry cant help.

something has gotta make the 2WD sedan sit lower than the 4WD's. I thought it may be the springs only making the difference (which is why I have kept a pair of 2WD rear coils to try in my GLTA)

2wd rear struts(kyb only) are physically longer and have a higher spring base, shove some king springs in there too and it will jack the car up. Its weird i know!

Apperently the story with 2wd kyb is yes they higher the reason ..have a look at a 2wd shock bottom mount on the rear arms its lower as it doesn't have to clear a driveshaft. So the raised spring plate makes up the difference.Put these into 4wd with a higher mount on the arm and up the whole rear goes.Another alternitive is put on a rear shock spacer like what you would use in a 2" lift kit.
