How to correct speedo when larger tyres fitted??

I'm planning on lifting my L series (finally) in the next couple of months. Before I do I just thought I'd look into converting my speedo so that it's still accurate. Has anyone done this either with manufactured kit or something made at home? I'd rather not just use whiteout on the dial. Cheers, Marty.

I've seen a couple of L series with a little "gearbox" put inline with the mechanical speedo cable. They have an adjustable ratio in them which can be tuned to make the speedo read correctly.
Don't ask me where to get one as I havn't spent much time trying to track them down, but thats the way to do it.

I wouldn't bother, Spend a few days watching a GPS screen and you'll be able to automatically know the difference. I find very little difference in my MY sedan with 27" tyres.

Better off getting $150 GPS from ebay and watch it - its 99.9% accurate. - but no good in tunnel or under bridges.
