Can people be mistaken, during warm up in my EJ22 Liberty, there is a tick noises - my father in law said (he isn't really that mechanically minded/beyond mechanic minded and I am hearing impaired) said that my pistons are snapping. Only occurs during warm up but if engine is hot - there isnt anything.
Its the tappets correct?
Should I be worrying abt something?
Cheers

Sounds just like tappet symptoms to me , try changing the oil with a slightly heavier one.

to what grade/type of oil should i replace? I'm using Castrol Magnetic 10-40w at the moment, I used it because the previous owner used it since new, Liberty now 250,000kms.
