Does anyone have a rear spoiler on an L series wagon?
My cars rear window gets covered with dust when I am driving on unsealed roads. I just need something that sucks a bit of air onto the back window, any ideas???

Apparantly impreza hatch spoilers fit well and look schmicko, i'll be looking into them very soon me thinks
Also Subi Matt has a factory aluminium spoiler, i think its more of a sun visor?

i wouldnt recomment the impreza hatch ones at all for trying to stop dust collecting there
i was watching a leaf sit in the wind eddie on the rear window at over 120clicks

I know the ones you mean alex, but i want one that in essence creates lift, by forcing air DOWN into the low pressure area behind the car, rather than being more cosmetic and creating downforce like the 'prezas.
Anyone got something like this custom made, or made themselves?

Loving the double spoiler mate, coz the standard one just isn't big enough. Haha!
Thanks Matt.

Done that myself.
Why do you have a dust problem, i've been on many dusty roads and it never bothers me with the build up. Personal thing?

...Im planning on attaching a rear spoiler from a 'Forester GT' eventually...
Not sure how it will perform in controlling dust though...
I was contemplating attaching a small wing, clear perspex fin to direct air downwards if the dust insists on collecting there.....
I too hate the way dust collects on the rear of my L...
Hey Matt <subi> does your rear wing really work to reduce dust on open roads...????

i would imagine that a typical spoiler would cause up-draft of air over the back of the car and causing more dust to stir up there.
If you've ever watched the rally cars on a really dusty section the dust is thickest up to the top of the spoiler.
Matt's spoiler would push the air down over the window not allowing dust to settle here as easily.
Any one thought why this little wing is called a "spoiler"?

A Impresa 2000RX Wagon wing will suit a l series hatch easy with minimal mods.

If ya don't like dust don't go offroad!
I just use my rear windscreen wiper to move the dust out of the way - works a treat

Dunno if it just a personal thing but dust just seems to accumulate there on anything from rough tracks to graded unsealed roads. Not just on the window but also around the tailgate, around the lights etc. Pissed off with getting all my gear dusty when driving in dry conditions, something Adelaide and SA have had plenty of over the last year.
Brendan, what kind of minimal mods are we talking about for the 2000 RX Impreza rear wing?
