ej20t question

Just wondering if any of the people with ej20 turbos in MYs have any problems with heat buildup in the engine bay I am looking at building an ej brumby with the intension of towing a small camper trailer on long trips and havnt made up my mind whether to go turbo or na ?
Also would the brumby radiator be suitable for this application?

you would be better to get a Ej22 or the ej25 motor n/a

If you're not chasing acceleration, Id go non-turbo for driveability and economy.

We towed a camper 11,000 k's over to QLD and back and got really good economy with the ej20.

Turbo is far superior to NA for towing. I sat down and typed a huge story about it and some how deleted it. Not going to do it again.

Jeff, in short use a better radiator than the MY one. New custom, or modify your radiator support and fit in the EJ one. Heat is not a problem in the engine bay at all. Go the turbo. If you want fuel economy buy a Fiori.

Thanks for the replys I currently tow a trailer with an awd ea81t brumby with no probs just not enough power for me so i will probably go with the turbo and also i have all the parts here for the turbo so it saves me sourcing an NA engine and loom etc

Yes it has an ea81t engine ,5speed awd box with centre diff lock [including Lseries low range] 4 wheelLseries disc brakes[including fronts] and a liberty power booster ,a 2inch lift kit and 14 inch sunraisers etc anyway i will list any other things when i sell it as this is off topic

Jeff, if heat is a problem put a cosworth style vent facing backwards in the bonnet, nothing overstated but will help with airflow through the radiator and out of the engine bay.
