Nulon oil leak fixer fluid

Anyone used the Nulon oil leak fixer stuff? It claims to revitalise old gaskets and prevent/fix leaks. Was really tempted to grab the stuff as i'm over oil leaks (the reciently rebuilt engine has two or three leaks that i don't want).

Just want to know if anyone has used it, how well does it work and how long has it worked for?

The other question i have is what does it do to the insides of your engine? Does it increase deposits of anything, or increase varnishing of the oil (this may be a dead issue these days)?

What kinda rebuild did you get?!?!? there should be no leaks. Why did you not have it done while the engine was out?

I can not remember if i have used the same stuff or another product.

My understanding is that it is a thickening agent which can:
1. Will make the oil thicker and/or
2. Can also cause rubber bits to swell slightly thus stopping the leak.

You could also try using a thicker grade oil.
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).

hehehe... I put in a completely new gasket kit.

The two leaks i have that i don't want are from between the head and the block, where the little rubber o ring goes. I found only one in the kit to fit, i had to buy the other myself. Got the same size as the one in the kit. This is where the leak is and i don't want to be removing the heads to get at it.

Looking for the easy fix, otherwise i'm just going to leave it be, don't want to be pulling heads off again so soon.

The other leak was from a washer on the drain plug that i have now replaced.

I saw this stuff andt thought it might help me out the easy way.

Got ya. The additive should hopefully stop the head leak, just be aware that 1 it may take a while to start working and 2 you way need to replace the additive every time you do a service/drop the oil.

As for the washer you mean sump nut washer? And if you have replaced there should be no leak.

I bet the o ring is not round anymore and not seated properly?

ive used the nulon one and the wynns one. the wynns works a little better but not by much- takes a couple weeks to work i reckon. only helps with small leaks - like a splotch the size of a 5c piece.

well i'm sure it's seated correctly, the only thing i can think happened was it has been pinched (the o ring)

The engine has done little over 6000km and to have this show up already is annoying, i don't want to be pulling the heads off so soon again.

This leak is only a droplet, its not flooding out (thank the subi gods). I'm probabily being picky, but i'm over seeing oil marks/droplets on the bottom of my engine.

I'll give the oil additive a go and see what happens. May take a while to get back to you from what i've read here ;)

ive used the p/s one and it wrk a charm
so fro the small leak you have i would say it would probably wrk
i wrk at an auto shop and nulon is one of the better 1s

used a wynns stop leak product years ago and it fixed an absolute pisser of a rear main oil leak. would not have believed if someone simply told me.

Those o rings - in the EA82 are flat with a double edge seal on them from subaru. I used silastic with one side.

sump plugs i always use thread tape and an o ring so thread never gets tight never drips, never tight to remove - tested over 500, 000 clicks !

I have been tempted to try it myself. I have just changed all the front seals on the 2.5 in the car to fix the oil leaks. Now one of the cams is leaking worse than ever. Must be a worn cam I spose so it is going to get a bottle/can/tube of it this weekend.

I had a leaking rear main seal on the EA81 and was tossing up whether to pay someone to replace the seal or try a bottle of additive. After speaking to Subi-Won, I decided to try the additive.

Oil went a funny colour and nothing happened for a few weeks, then the leak become less noticeable (ie: still leaking but not as much). Did an oil change and went to Shell Helix 10W-30 semi-synthetic oil. I did notice a heck of a lot of particles floating in the old oil as it drained away. I fitted a genuine Subaru oil filter and the result was that after about 5,000km the rear main seal leak stopped altgether.

Haven't got anymore oil leaks. :)

i use nulon e20 in my ea82t to stop lifter tap and most of the oil leaks have also stopped as well well they drip a little bit not not that much.
