EA82T crossover turbo pipe..ASBESTOS??

Post by steptoe » Sun Apr 29, 2007 11:16 am

finding both me pipes are cracked and will need a repair in order to use i am looking at the heat shields on the pipe at the junctions. They are very tight fit and secure and not very tinny sounding. What is that??? white stuff in there ??

ASBESTOS ??

who has removed these shields before ? find ASBESTOS ?

thanks,

Dont think it would be Asbestos, more likely Mineral Rock fiber, as in pink batt roof insulation. I know its a bit different to pink batts.
I was going to replace the heat sheilds with fiberglass tape wrap and secure with stainless cable ties.
