Just saw on the news tonight a stolen L-Series wagon trashed after a high speed police chase in Adelaide. Looked like it was lifted and running 14" sunraysias. Hope it wasn't anyone's on here. Hope the theives get what they deserve for trashing a Soob!

High speed in a lifted L series? Far out!!
Yeah I agree, hope it wasn't someones car from here, although it was no doubt someones pride and joy at some point.

How much ice do you have to have taken to mistake an L series for a WRX ???

Lol, was definitely an L-Series and according to the news report the police had actually terminated the chase, so they must have been fairly flying along in it. I suspect it may have had an EA82T or EJ lurking under the bonnet.

It looked loved - shes a shocker now though. Theres a bend in the chassis/body to be proud of. It looks like it was sporting some spats in front of the back wheels.

Stobie pole ? google.... no report of speeds reached. It musta been moving to bend so well. If they then took the Hyundai, it won't be any stronger !
What are the SA coppers driving , Starlets ?

Hi guys,
was previously 'Steve -L4EVa' but had some IT issues getting on
This was my car, and yes, it was loved.
To settle the debate...EA82T with mods a plenty incl a spider manifold. Just sorted an underfueling problem with steve (of Rising Sun fame) and yes, it went hard.
First i knew was the phone call at 1am from police asking if i was the owner of the car., and if i was, where i did i last see it. looked out the window, no car.
The poor misunderstood, "my mother didn't breastfeed me" lads bypassed the alarm, rolled it down the street, and away they went. police called off the chase at 120kph for safety reasons, but at that speed the car is coming on song.
back to sleep, listened to the 6am news - sure enough, crashed. Went to the sence - totalled - guess it won't buff out. Am glad nobody (innocent) was hurt/killed. The passenger seemed to have suffered a head laceration, reasonable amt of blood, but not life threatening
And a big two thumbs up for the police - they were very professional throughout my dealings - I know car enthuasists and police don't always get along, but they saw how the car looked after, and fully complianced, and were sympathetic to my plight.
...and i had just filled it with $70 of PULP
So from here, nothing but the rear end to salvage, motor / gearbox is stuffed...interestingly the alarm still works (!!), will wait for Shannons to advise salavage cost to me - only two good panels (door and tailgate).
Some pics to follow when i can work it out, but they're not pretty, and may be disturbing to younger viewers

Mate - you have my total sympathy. I would be absolutely devastated if that happened to my L. Yet again - thoughtless smacktards ruin someone's pride and joy for a few hours fun. Best of luck with it all bud - keep us aprised of how you get on with insurance.
