Exhaust fumes
Exhaust fumes
Something I've noticed for a while now but kinda ignored is that When I first start my brumby up, there is a strong smell of exhaust fumes in the cab which goes away after she warms up a bit. I noticed also that this became worse after I upgraded my pipes to 2 1/2 inch. couild this possible be an indication of slightly dodgy head gaskets? Should I start worrying and rounding up new gaskets? And on a slighjtly different topic, can heads from any other subie engine mate up with the ea81 engine? I.E. Could I swap ej18 heads for the factory ones? If so, any advantages or just a pain in the arse?

as for the exhaust fumes i dont know, all i can sujest is that you make sure your pipes are all welded proberly and all gaskets in the exhaust system are ok,
as for the heads, no no other heads will fit this motor, well not that will work, if its performance your after your best bet would be an ej22 convert or if the budget allows, a ej20 turbo convert
