Just signed in. My name is Kevin and I own a 1972 GSR coupe ,1975 DL1400 and a 1984 brumby ,and my wife owns a 2000 outback. I am currently putting in a 2" lift kit and was hoping someone may have photos of a lift being put in.
Are there any GSR coupes left in Aussie? The one we have is the only 72 left on the road in NZ. Yeh sorry I'm a Kiwi by the way. Hope to have a yarn soon with some of you members.

Hey Subgsr.

Welcome to the site! I'm sure you'll get all the subie info you need plus more that you don't...
Check out the tech manual, someone may have posted how to put a lift kit in. I've heard you start with the rear and take out half the bolts replacing with the larger bolts before you detach it from the chassis (If that makes sense), someone here will beable to give you a full rundown on how to do it anyway.

Well, happy subaru'n.

Cheers

That is a really good question! I doubt if there is many left at all. There certainly would not be any 72 models in Aust. as they were only sold from halfway through 1973. They were only sold in Japan from October 1971 so you must have a very early one! The last time I saw a GSR was about 5 years ago, unfortunately it was too far gone (smashed front-end) and had no useable parts.:( I think they stopped importing them here in 1975 as the new hardtop model took over with the twin-carb motor. In 1976 the 1400 was replaced with the 1600 and thanks to emission rules we only had one engine for the range, so no more twin-carb.

I have a 1974 GL coupe which I am trying to get ready for registration and my daily driver is a 1978 4WD wagon. The early models are the the coolest!
