is it hard to swap a 2.5 out of a 96 legacy for a ej20tt

It is quite simple if you are pretty good with tools and have a decent know how with your car. I don't think I would suggest it for a person that doesn't do a great deal of work on their own cars.

Buying a TT front cut is the most obvious (read best) way to go. You get all the parts you will need and you can also hear it running before you fit it to your car.

We have done quite a few of them and could help out if need be. Are you in Qld?

Would that involve a hydraulic clutch conversion as well?

No, everything Liberty/Legacy and Impreza is a bolt in, that's the beauty of them.

What Al means is it would be hydraulic if it is manual but there is no "conversion" to be done. As he said, it all just bolts in place of the cable clutch.
