I currently have a 86 l series sedan sitting in the back of my workshop rusting away due to blown heads. It's my fav car yet it goes no where.

The idea is to drop in a EA82-T motor (the front shafts have already been removed and locked into 4x4 so you get an idea where I'm going). Then tune the motor to sing whilst spinning the rear wheels at about 90km/h sideways through Mallala's S-bends. As it is it already lends itself to drifting, just seems to work, just need some more power and someone to tell me I'm an idiot and I'll do it. If anyone has some good ideas on how to make this easier or better (minus an EJ-turbo motor) as money doesn't allow. When It's all done your all welcome to come laugh as it will take some time to get it down pat.

Hm it's definitely not the best car to drift but if it's there, why not :P
EA82T will take you a very long time to track down for a decent price and a very short time to blow up with it's intended application.

come to think of it, some guy on boostcruising drifted a Liberty RS EJ20G wagon pretty well. Dunno if he used the RS 5spd or a designated RWD box (if he even could), but it can be done I guess.

What andrew said though, it doesn't seem like the drifting type. KE70/AE71 corolla or R31 skyline if you want a cheap drifter. If you want to drift your wagon.... not a clue. its un-heard of man.

he used a std box with a modded rear output but the box did go bang anyway dont bother with the ea82t use a ej22

my votes on ej22 motor... unless u have an mpfi ea motor, its the same amount of work

on the rear wheel drive thing...

yes the back end is very light and tends to be tail happy, but i was driving around in rwd for a couple months in an ea82t wagon and rounded off the splines on the output shaft on the back of the gearbox

not sure if it was bad luck? or its a weak point? just thought id pass it on.
