LED Lights

Post by Sandy67 » Tue Jun 15, 2021 2:22 pm

I have a 2000 subaru Forester, I fitted spotlights and a light bar as per instructions and all was well. Now I have fitted LED headlights and the spot and bar lights no longer work. Is there a way to re-wire them to work on the high beam switch.

G’day Sandy,

Use the trigger wire at the headlight relay to trigger the auxiliary driving lights.

Seems that with the change from halogen to LEDs isn’t enough current to pull the relay to switch on your driving lights. Going to the headlight relay trigger wire will do the trick. This worked on my Sister’s 2000 Gen3 RX Liberty. Using the wiring at the headlight did all sorts of weird things!

How do you find the LEDs over the halogen?

Cheers
