before i begin to take the gearbox out of my 91 FWD lib which is the best way to do it?
pull the motor out then the box
or just slide the box back and drop it out?
is it right there are around 8 different types of liberty FWD gearbox's?
cheers

Being FWD the easiest way is to drop the box out from the rear and leave the motor in.

Clutch on awd I reckon it's easier to remove the engine.
No tailshaft, gearshift linkages, front driveshafts etc to unbolt from under the car.
The only things you'll need to get under the car for are the engine mounts bolts & possibly the bottom 2 engine/gearbox bolts. Everything else can be done from up top.
Just make sure you put a jack under box to hold it up, otherwise it drops onto the engine crossmember & the engine then won't push back on.
