Hay all, i have decided that i need a bigger car as i am now regulary carring 3 or 4 people and in a brumby that is not fun let alone legal, so i am looking at something along the lines of an MY 2 or 4 door sedan, wagon or l series sedan or wagon.

the look of the 2 door sedans has started to grow on my since seeing kwijmbo's rotary coupe and 85wrx's coupe. i have a work mate who has one of these however in poor condition. like for starters it has very bad rust at the bottom rh of the rear window and runs along the side of the boot. Dosnt look hard to fix but i havnt done any body repair before. havnt looked anyfurther into rust etc.

Another work m8 has a m8 who has an l wagon that need a water pump. 5 speed push button 4x4 all electrics etc etc. no rust that i know of.

anyway what im asking is what other places i should look for rust in it and how hard will it be to convert it to 4x4 further down the track if i wish?

Does anyone else have any other cars to recomend of give/sell to me in the area of townsville and within 500kms?

Oh and this is not to replace my ute. it is my baby and i will NEVER ger rid of it willingly... it is mearly to use when i need more seats.

If all else fails i may just end up driving my bros magna wagon 3.5l manual, lowered, mags, BIG sterio, etc etc but he wants me to buy if for 5 grand with a blown diff or fixed diff but no sterio

If it's not to replace the ute, then definately just get a nice condition 2 or 4 door sedan. I love the look of the 2, but if you're getting it to carry people, might as well get 4 door. Just get a stocko 2wd one. Don't bother converting it to 4x4 ... save the money you'd spend on that on improving the brumby

Yea the 4x4 convert wouldnt be for offroad it would be my next prodject
i realy like both but stock i think the L wagon has more style

IMHO the L wagon has about as much style as my refrigerator. You can stick magnets to it to improve its looks but at the end of the day its just a big square block.

2 door MY all the way. The 4 doors have a pillar right next to the driver's head and if you're used to the Brumby it will be quite annoying. Rear seat access isn't too difficult either, the front seats get out of the way easily.

Pillarless windows = style BTW.

yea tru i see your point but i still like the L wagon. if i can find a good condition 2 door i will go with that other wise it will be the L wagon as i chould be able to get one very easly from a m8's m8. anyone going to have a good condion 2 door for sale early next year?

I wouldn't really classify my car as a 5 seater car.

I think people in the 80's were much smaller than us now lol 3 people in my car is enough!

Haha, IMO, style=the odd one out. Now with everything going teardrop shape sort of, even the bloody new big 4wds!....well I reckon the L does have STYLE!! so do the G wagons, and the LR defender...haha i gues that says something abt me.

Hay 3 seats is realy all i need cos thats bout how many ppl i carry on a semi regular basis. and that would make it legal

Maybe convert the Brumby to a column-shift and put a bench seat in?

Yes yes you have.
A bench seat in the brumby would still be a pita it would have less room than the 2 door or a 180sx rx7 etc. maybe i could get some jump seats and some how be allowd to use them here. Heres to wishing
