My old man is lookin at either a impreza 00 wagon or forester.
What on-road mods r best for the impreza in terms of performance v's economy and a bit of style.
remember its my old man so he's gonna be wantin to save fuel but obviously an exhaust, and other adjustments r essential. he's given me the car for a couple of weeks so will take it round a few places and get some quotes

Subaru built a pretty fine car from the factory. Changing items like the exhaust and rims really are not "essential" at all, and they certainly won't deliver better economy or style.
I say leave it stock and keep the modding money for fuel. That's economy.

Don't bother replacing a perfectly good exhaust system. Wait untill its buggered. I doubt your old man would appriciate a booming exhaust note and 5" stainless cannon muffler in the intrests of "style".
My mother drives a 2000 auto GX hatch and its good for about 7 or 8 litres/100 (unless I drive it).
Keep the car serviced and tuned up and keep the tyres pumped up hard.

Stickers will increase the wind drag and weight therefore reducing both performance and economy.
They also severely reduce levels of style but that's only my opinion

well this is all gettin abit technical, will any bigger exhaust give better performance without havin anything short of a bucket out the back end.
im sure he wont mind losing some economy for that sweet sweet note.

It should increase performance slightly.
Beware though, it isn't going to sound the slightest bit like a WRX.

I can't see any technicality in this entire thread. Buy a Subaru. Keep it stock. If you wanted to go fast, why didn't you buy a turbo?
Economy?
You have to burn fuel to make power. Sorry, but thats scientific fact.

Which part exactly? Are you inferring that given my own vehicle history I am being hypocritical?
Have you seen my Ford? Stock as a rock and there's no reason to change that.

Heh....Tim's coupe was NOT built for economy :P

i reckon, get some nice big wheels, maybe slightly slightly lower it, and a nice little sports exhaust system to get abit of a grumble..ohh and dark tint always works a treat! The most important thing...KEEP IT CLEAN!!!..make the black bits black, and the shiny bits shiny!
