tick tick tick now gone....

ha might b a temporary fix but at the moment the lifter tick has gone, me and a mate had a play last weekend with 500ml of atf and about 300ml of diesel fuel mixed in with the engine oil, ran her the lifter noise was there still but a little bit quieter, gave up, i went and started her again a few days later and vroom vroom no lifter tick, amazing! went and started her this morning ( pretty cold 3 degrees) and on start up a little tick then got oil pressure and went quiet! just wow, i had already brought the oil pump seals to do the oil pump but might leave it till it ticks again now, and the best bit i havenet even changed the oil yet... anyway cheers Ben

mix atf with mineral oil ?? and run it in an engine you cares about

hi ben i was talking to a suby mechanic about the tic tic, as i told fatz the man said to replace oil pickupseal ,oilpumpseal and camboxes seals hmmm last one bit mutch, but as hot oil passes through it makes them brittel then low oil presure all the best mick
