How long should I run my engine after i finish driving normally (hardly hit boost at all), and after hard driving?

If driving sedately { little to no boost }you dont really have to leave it running after stopping, if you have been giving it stick and boosting a lot give it about 3 mins to cool down , maybe five, Or do what I do and drive nice and calmly for the last five mins before getting to my destination .

Thats my technique too Mike. Although with a Subaru turbo it really doesn't matter anyway because of the cooling systems they run, i can't help but do it.

After a spirited run you should let it cool down enough so that the temp guage is at the lowest point of running temp before turning off but if you are just dawdling around town then turning it off straight away will not cause any long term hassles

I bought a Bogaard one for my coupe ages ago, but then after a little bit of advice I never fitted it. Reason is I don't need it.

I have a Greddy one that does a set time and will also increase shut down time if the engine is hotter than normal or has been boosted just before shutdown for long times
