Hi,
I have a 12/89 Brumby with original log book, torneau, tow bar, bullbar, it is straight, no rust and has RX wheels. It's got 162000 k's on the clock.
I'm thinking of getting a new car......Subaru of course........ probably a Forrester, and was wondering what money the Brumby would fetch as a private sale. I wouldn't try to trade it as I reckon I would get bugger all, so let me know what you think.
Cheers
Tim

It's worth nothing... You should give it to me.
But seriously, anywhere between $3k and $8k depending on condition and everything. Maybe a picture or ten would help out.
That's just the price range I found when I was searching for mine.

I would agree with the post above but it will depend on where you are as well

I know where I am (southern NSW) you would pay between $5K to $6K for one like that.
The unfortunate thing (for sellers) is the second hand car market has died at the moment, weather it's due to the abundance of employment, the high average wage or competatively priced new vehicles or what is a separate issue, but you may find it hard to shift even though you'll end up getting what you want for it.

I would try selling it on carsales.com.au or carpoint.com.au. I have heard that it only takes 3 or 4 days before you find a buyer. Have a browse through those two websites and see what the other brumbies are selling for.

That brumby with 29,439km on the clock is going for $16,900 8O

I'd be willing to bet that Brumby (the 17k one) is the same brumby that was for sale in the trading post at Wee Waa about 4 years ago for $22k and only delivery k's on the clock...

I paid $2900 for my Brumby that had a 2" lift, badly painted 14" sunnies, deul carbies, roughish paint (really rough now!), clean interior, no tonneau or bullbar. This was in SA. Hope that helps you get an idea on what you can sell it for.
