Can anyone tell me how much an 85 RX Turbo would weigh ? Also an 89 Brumby ?
I did a search but found nothing and I am sure it was on the old board.
Cheers,

Official curb weight for a 1986 4door Leone DL Sedan (that's 2wd carby) is 965kg.
I would estimate the 4x4 rear end and driveline would add at least another 150kg or so.

I seem to remember curb weight of a 4WD sedan as 1050 kg.

ok cool, so if I am happy with the way my RX tows the car trailer then the Brumby should do pretty much the same sort of job.

err, Brad, did you say you're towing a car trailer behind an RX. Empty I hope.
I would not ever, not never put that much behind an L or a Brumby (and I do a lot of towing). Its not legal, you haven't the weight in the vehicle or the brakes to control a loaded car trailer, and the poor thing will be pulled apart.
Don't want to be harsh about it, but they just aren't made for it.

when I had my sedan it was 1220 (registered scale here in brissy) with me in it (I'm 75 kg.)
only trailer I have put behind a sedan was a 4x6 box trailer - nothing bigger.

I wouldn't pull another car with the stock brakes of an RX or a brumby.
Once I've got the 4 spots on mine, I'd have no issues with pulling something a lot heavier.
I towed an 86 Celica on a car trailer (light enough to be unbraked) with my Toyota wagon the other day. Mind you, I got very annoyed when got cut off at the lights & needed the ABS to stop.
