Removed and reinstalled one of my front driveshafts.
Tightened up the large castellated nut.
Must have done it too tight...
Stripped the thread.

MY and L series have different outer CV joints. Same basic design, but if you put the two side by side you'll see the differences.
Andrew you'll need to replace that CV asap (duh) and you can't do the outer joint only trick unless you don't like your centre diff. That one only works on the part time boxes.
I did have one kicking about but I think I've binned it. It was suss anyway, having come out of my brother's car at one stage. I'd still have the inner CV and axle somewhere though, not much use to you atm.
If you want I can make some calls tomorrow... I will ask anyway and get back to you.

Nah I'm still driving it around. There's a split pin through the nut so it's okay for the moment....no wobble or baring noise yet
I might pop over to show you tonight if your home Jaffa.

Dude i would be very very carfull with that CV and running on boost.. If it comes off the CV will be the least of your worries. I know first hand how much a minor thing can turn into big things if they let fly on the road.
Personally i wouldn't be driving it at all till u have atleast sorted that CV. Plus i sorta like ya and don't want u to die.

the nut isnt going anywhere with a solid split pin through it.

But even the nut being slight loose can damage the wheel bearings and brake hub and maybe even the steering knuckle.
Did u get hold of Molly about them CV's??

It's still very tight, not even a hint of the tell-tail *scrunch, scrunch* noise you usually get.
Nah I havn't contacted Molly yet....I may not even end up needing them now because I just realised that with the Crossbread Performance hub kit I will be running Lib driveshafts anyways

No, you'll be running L driveshafts mated to 2WD Lib outer CV's.
