I was just reloading our Eftpos machine at work with a new roll of thermal paper when I came up with a fantastic idea for low-cost lift kit components.

I believe he means the rolls of paper used in the eftpos machine. Clearly up to the job of supporting the weight of a suby, not to mention the abuse a lifted suby will generally cop.

But they're not even 2" Andrew! And I don't think the suspension bolts would go through them.

Why do I have a drawer full of these things?

That's okay, just stack two of them ontop of each other. And remove the cardboard tube out from the middle.

Stranger things went through my mind the first time I put my BYB kit into my old L series...

Due to leave on our trip up north at 7am Saturday morning.
Thursday night - installing my lift kit.
90% finished installing the lift kit - realise the gearbox crossmember blocks are MISSING.

Ended up getting some blocks made while I waited by an extrememly helpful engineering joint in the middle of the day on Friday.
Tightened the last bolt 3am.
4 hours later I drove out the driveway, then 10 hours straight to Monkey Mia.
