Can anyone tell me if it is possible to regas Shocker absorbers. I have a set of used Gabriel Ultra Shockers which I think are gas and that I replaced on my front Struts. I was about to toss them away but have been told that they can be regased. Anyone know anything about this.

I believe who ever told you that has been smoking rhubarb.

Every search I have done on regassing struts says; gas struts for boots, bonnets, hatches and tail gates nothing about suspension struts.

I do enjoy raw rhubarb, cannot say I've ever tried the ol' rhubarb pipe though!

Gas shocks (dampers really) are a once use item.

There is a type of front MY shock/strut that can be pulled down, re-oiled and resealed for reuse.

Someone on here was playing around with theirs recently. I can't remember if it was CliffR or someone else.

AFAIK factory shocks on the MYs and L series were KYB oil units. These can go a fair distance before they pop, then they go some more before they become really noticeable that there's an issue.

Aftermarket KYB struts and shocks are gas units, genuine are oil units ;)

Cheers
