I recently noticed a bit of rust colour coming from under the drivers side rear quarter glass trim on my wagon. I put off removing the trims for ages until Geach pointed out how easy they are to get off. I couldnt believe the crap i found in there - and rust in both sides of the car.

I have since taken the trims off 2 mates cars and they both have rust in there aswell. The gutters empty into the bottom of the glass through the trim along the rear edge of the window, so any bit of crap you ever pick up in your gutters ends up stuck here. I make a point of hosing out my gutters every time i was the car but it obviously hasnt helped..
To get the trims off you just open the tailgate and slide a flat blade screwdriver in from the rear to pop the first slip off. from there they will just pull out by hand.
I dont have any photos of the rust in the passenger side but its alot worse than the drivers side to the point i think im going to have to take the glass out to fix it properly.
