I've located a couple of front Brumby drive shafts with busted boots and the cv joints are still OK. They are the shafts with the 6 bearings. Can any of u guys out there tell me what the difference is between the inside and outside boots. I got a dozen boots for a Brumby at a Fire sale and there not marked Left or right but they all look the same to me. They all fit neatly on either end of the drive shafts.

Inner boots should be an extra bit longer

When I bought my car it had the shorter boots on the inside and they tore on the way home.

The wording of that pic is a bit misleading. I know what they are trying to say but it can be easily misinterpreted as being a difference from the left to the right hand side of the car (which there is not of course) The difference is the inner (longer boot) and outer (shorter boot).

The inner boot is longer and shaped so that the boot doesn't come in contact with the steering shaft. As well it is longer to compensate for the extra travel the Double offset joint (aka inner CV) goes through. Most universal replacement boots listed these days are the same for inner and outer applications. As JP147 stated they can fail as they are not long enough to compensate for the joint travel.
