What a revelation

So, most know about Tweety's reconditioned engine, SPFI manifold and weber 38/38 carbie. That it runs rich a bit but goes well only limited by the old 3 speed VW auto.
On its maiden trip central Vic over Kozzy down the coast etc about 1600 kms I was thinking about the kickdown and how the two systems, electric switch and vacuum solonoid should be adjusted better. The switch should be turned on only at full throttle, not half way as it was,
Today I had a look at the whole carbie mountings etc. mmmmm, a look down the throats and on full throttle- butterflies only open about 75% of the way.

Further checks found that one of the gears of the throats struck the customised carbie mount see below.

All was taken off and a section along the alloy mount was ground away to allow for free play.

At full throttle

Looking back when originally installed I would have turned the throttle but where it stopped had no idea that it was only 3/4 way there.
Test ride tomorrow.
