Brumby Clunk

Post by majordad1 » Fri Dec 05, 2014 9:49 pm

Guys when I start the Brumby in the mornings and afternoon after work the first 2 seconds when she fires I get a knock which sounds like big ends, which then goes away and the thing just ticks over Has got 287K on it and running 20w 60 Penrite HPR Diesel oil on their recommendation. Don't recall the same issue with the My GLF coupe I had 15 odd years ago, mind you it had probably 140K less on it.
I was thinking that maybe the factory filter might be the go rather than the Ryco equivelant. Any thoughts. Majordad

Does the oil light go out straight away? I'd recommend fitting an oil filter with a non return valve in it.
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
