Bolt torque for ea81

Post by Tweety » Tue Nov 18, 2014 9:39 pm

ok guys I give up

Have been trying to find the torque ft/lbs for thermostat housing bolts for my SPFI manifold. Should likely be the same as ea81. I have a rubber gasket as part of the engine rebuild gasket kit the EB got. Hence dont want to squash the crap out of it and dont want it to leak etc.

Can someone help out?

wrist tight - is less than elbow tight, which in turn is less than shoulder tight.

the torque is pretty much same for every mild steel bolt into block alloy for all M8 1.25 bolts so will be same for the EA81 same job bolts. Only xception is for the EA82 timing belt tensioner to block bolts, they is on the lower side for bolts their size.

The M6 are usually smidge over finger tight
